We're off!

We're off for a week in NH tomorrow. I'm quite looking forward to it. We get in around dinner time tomorrow and then I believe we're grilling at the house- bbq chicken for my birthday! Sunday is a beach day and some friends are going to meet us up in Ogunquit, ME, too. Should be quite a bit of fun and I'm certainly looking forward to one or two lobster rolls from the Lobster Shack in Perkins Cove. Best. Lobster Roll. Ever.

I'll blog with pictures when we get back!

Busy, busy

I've been MIA, I know. My uncle, mom, sister and brother drove down last week with a car load of baby stuff for us from my aunt and uncle. We have tons of stuff now!

Uncle Jeff left Thursday.

Mom and my brother left Saturday.

My sister leaves tomorrow morning.

My mom painted a dresser we'd gotten off of Craigslist for the baby. Then we papered the drawers and put clothes away. And they cleaned and set up the crib, too. So, the baby's room is starting to come together a little bit.

I'll blog as I can this week. I have tons of end of the semester work to do and we leave on Saturday for a week in NH with Doug's parents. Hopefully I can get a lot of school work finished this week so I don't have to do too much while we're on vacation.

Saturday's Surprise!

Zach proposed to Monica Saturday night! We're quite happy to have her for a sister/daughter-in-law... I think we all thought of her like that already anyway. She certainly fits in well with this crazy family and we love her!

Congratulations!!

You know what's evil...?

Killer whales, that's what. Evil.

They eat baby everything. We've seen at least two nature shows recently and their entire diet seems to consist of baby animals. And only the cute ones.

Victor Borge

I caught a Victor Borge special on PBS last night. Again. I will watch these, in all their forms, not matter how often they're aired. It doesn't matter how many times I've seen a particular sketch, I still laugh hysterically. Even when I'm by myself like I was last night. Not only was he a great comedian, he was an absolutely amazing pianist. I could listen to him all day, comedy or not.

This one starts right after Marilyn Mulvey has said the title of the song she's going to sing:

And, from The Muppet Show

This one just cracks me up

Tiny shoes!

We got these sweet little shoe-socks from one of my dear friends at work. They're much pinker than this photo shows and they are absolutely adorable!

We're working on the baby registry and we'll send the link out soon. Hopefully we'll have a chance to go look at some diapers this weekend so we can decide what exactly we like. It's hard to tell online sometimes, but I found a great store just north of us in Round Rock that carries a bunch of diapers. They have a freebie bin so people can try out different types, too, which is really neat. We can try that out if we need some more diapers or different diapers once the baby's here.

The big ultrasound!

Well, this right here is your last chance to guess what the baby is.

Time's up! It's a girl!

We had our big ultrasound this morning. The tech says it's a girl and she's pretty positive. We got some great pictures of the baby. And some creepy ones again, too. The skeleton pics are a little much!

The baby is healthy. I only saw a few shots, but Doug could see the screen the whole time the tech was working. The baby was kicking and moving around the whole time. I still haven't felt her, yet. She weighs just a little over 10 ounces and I can't remember how long she is now. I'll actually be going again for another ultrasound in a week or two. She was moving around, but she wasn't cooperating. I even got up and went to the bathroom at one point, but that didn't get her to move into a better position. The tech never got a good look at her heart structure, so that gets me a second trip. And hopefully some more pictures again!

Just so we're all on the same page

I just wanted to keep everyone updated. It's July 1. My birthday is in 30 days. Just so we're all synchronized.

(Can you tell I love my birthday?!)
