Interview!

As I mentioned before, I have an interview next week for a teen librarian position! I had to create a program plan and prepare a booktalk. Program plans are fun and easy- I had to do some of those for classes. Plus, I like writing outlines... something about the whole organization freak thing... The booktalk was another story. I had a good book in mind that I read and liked when the library got it. I've been so busy with school and everything that I haven't had time to read any YA books in quite a while, so I decided to go with this book rather than try to get another one read. I just finished writing the booktalk and I think it's ok. Fingers crossed that the interviewers think so, too!

My practicum work is going really well. I've been weeding the fairy tale collections at a couple different branches and I'm going to do a couple more branches in the next two weeks. It's a lot of fun to see an entire collection at one location like that, but also to see it across a handful of branches in a big system. I've learned some interesting things.

And, as always, it's just nice to be working in a library.

Almost finished!

I just have two weekends (three weeks) left and then I am finished with grad school! I can't hardly believe it. I still have lots of work to do. I need 35 hours still at the library for my practicum and I finally got around to starting my final paper yesterday. But, everything is going well and I'll be able to relax soon! Especially since mom's coming down April 29-May 3 and then she's sending Kate down for a couple weeks after that to help out while I finish the semester. Family is an amazing thing!

Phee is just as perfect as always. She weighed in at 14 lb, 11 oz at her 4 month checkup. She's 26 inches long now, too. She constantly has us laughing and she's always checking out something new. Yesterday she went to the art museum for the first time and she loved it. She chattered the whole time and just couldn't get enough of the colors. We'll be making many more trips to the museum and sculpture garden this summer.

In other fantastic news, I have an interview for a teen library position at the beginning of May. It would be perfect and I'm quite excited about it!
