NYC News

Zach, my brother, and Monica, his fiancee, have a cute little apartment in Brooklyn. I've seen a few pictures they took before they started working on it and I've seen a couple since they painted and bought new furniture.

Well, they had engagement photos taken a couple weeks ago and that fantastic photographer took some pictures of their apartment, too. She liked them so much, that she contacted Apartment Therapy. This morning, Zach and Monica's apartment was featured on the Apartment Therapy New York page! The pictures are really fantastic and the before and after sets are just amazing. They really have done a lot of work on that apartment and it's such a bright, comfy space now.

Also, some engagement photos and some more photos of the apartment.

Who You Gonna Call?

I just saw this video on the Pop Candy blog. Hilarious! It also makes a good point at the end... libraries, even in NYC, are facing budget cuts. Go visit your library- check out a book, use a library service, go to a program!

Some Phee videos

Here are a few Phee videos. They're a little shaky and a little blurry sometimes. I took them with my iPhone and the video gets a little messy sometimes. Plus Phee likes to grab for my phone. And she's all arms and legs.

Monica is a Star!

My soonish-to-be sister-in-law Monica was on tv out in Vegas. She's in beauty PR in New York and was on a morning show out in Vegas talking about summer hairstyles. She's so cute!

Maybe she can help fix my hair in July when the family's all together...

Thanks!

Thanks for all the well wishes! The interview went well yesterday morning. I knew all 3 interviewers so that made the whole thing a lot more comfortable. Plus, I've already done one of these panel city interviews before, back when I got the internship at the library. I was a little nervous going into it, but it really wasn't that bad. It was pretty standard questions which I'd mostly prepared for. The couple that I hadn't thought about weren't too bad and I was able (I think!) to give a decent answer.

So, now we just wait and see. There are more interviews next week and then they'll make their choice. It has to go through library and city HR (love those city jobs) before they can do anything. They'd like to have someone start in June, though, so hopefully things move quickly. We'll see!
