Brought to you by the letter...

This is Ophelia's new favorite thing.  We watched it 47 times yesterday.  And again this morning.  

As soon as the song finishes, she's signing and saying "more, more, more."  It's adorable.  Luckily, it's a cute song so I don't really mind having it stuck in my head all day.  Every day.

Happy Days

Ophelia got tubes in her ears last Thursday morning.  She was a trooper and did a fantastic job.  She was only slightly groggy and unhappy afterward and spent most of her day playing, though she was quite exhausted.  After a good weekend, we're starting to see the effects of the tubes already.  She has noticed some quiet sounds and some far-off sounds which we've never seen her acknowledge before.  And, while she's always been a talker, it's starting to be a little less gibberish and a few more words every day.  Things are becoming a bit more clear and it's quite cute to listen to her.

In other news, I just finished a short basic book repair class through the Austin Museum of Art.  It was a lot of fun and I repaired a Shel Silverstein book.  Sadly, I didn't think to take pictures of the book before or during the process.  But, the book looks as good as new and it was very interesting to learn about the process and gain a basic understanding of what it takes to repair books.  It's something I think I'd pursue as a hobby if I didn't already have 27 of those that I have no time for.  And, if it didn't require a whole set of tools I don't currently possess.  Like I said, it is nice to know about it though, and it was a neat class.
